"Families"  is an effort to put more Reine pedigree information on the website.

Recognize that this is a work in progress, we wanted to get it up and running and add to it as time permits rather than wait until all the voluminous material was put together, so if the information for a given family isn't available on this visit, do check back.

About the information provided:

The family table lists all registered descendents of Reines.  Descendents of non-Reines, except where necessary to track the family to another Reine, are not included simply because this would represent lists of such length as to probably blow the server's circuits.   As time permits, we hope to add names of prominent descendents that otherwise do not appear in order to better show the impact on the breed these families have had (although that information exists in the Reine stories that comprise the series).

Older records tend to be unreliable regarding stakes-placings, so no attempt was made to indicate stakes-placed runners.  Stakes wins in older records seem a bit more reliable, so runners who have won stakes races appear in CAPITAL letters.  Later we hope to add names of stakes races won, which is usually done in the Pedlines charts.

Blue indicates a Reine.  The Family name and number that appears at the start of the table is followed by a number in parentheses--this represents the number of Reines in this family, including the "foundation" mare the table pertains to.  Thus, a (6) would mean there are 6 names in blue: the name at the top plus five in the table below.

We hope you find this more elaborate collection of information both interesting and useful.
