2006 Eclipse Awards Contest

Rules:  Place in the appropriate boxes the names of the Thoroughbreds you think will be the top three Eclipse Award selections in each category, in the order you think they will finish.

Each correct selection in the correct placement receives ten points.  The entrant with the highest point total is the winner.

Example:  You select Ashado first as Four-Year-Old & Up Female.  If she finishes first, that's worth ten points.  If she does not finish first, no points are earned.  With three positions in ten categories, a theoretically perfect score is 300.

Prizes:  Non-Pedlines subscribers - Entrant with the highest point total will receive a year's subscription to Pedlines.

(If you wish to subscribe, see the Subscriptions page under Pedlines.  If you subscribe by the contest deadline you will be eligible to receive the subscribers prizes rather than the non-subscriber prizes)

Pedlines subscribers - Entrant with the highest point total will receive a Seabiscuit DVD, a Secretariat keychain, a copy of the 1984 book Shoemaker by Bill Shoemaker, and a six month Pedlines subscription extension.

Deadline:  Entries must be submitted no later than Midnight, December 26, 2006 (Eclipse voters have until December 26 to cast their ballots).

While the awards will not be presented until January 22, 2007, finalists are generally announced in early January.

Each issue of PEDLINES pictures a Mystery Horse (a Thoroughbred who is mentioned somewhere in that issue).  The first subscriber who correctly identifies the horse receives a two issue bonus.  So there are at least one or more contests to stimulate subscriber interest and competition in every issue.
